The United difference
¡°The Christ-centeredness was extremely important. So many other seminaries were kind of drifting to other places. [United] was anchored in apostolic Christianity yet with an eye to the future. It was much more practice than it was academic. The academic expectation was there, but they weren¡¯t training people to go teach in seminaries ¨C they were training people to go be effective in the local church.¡±
Message for future students
¡°It¡¯s the mix you find at United. You have Evangelicals, and you have Pentecostals, and you have people from a more progressive background. It¡¯s accepted to come with questions and to diverge in theology ¨C but at the same time it¡¯s going to push you on ¡®Jesus is the Messiah.¡¯ And I think the racial diversity is extremely important.¡±
